Earlier this month, I had the incredible honor of designing the stationery for the Emerge Event Collective Retreat in Vail, Colorado. This inspiring gathering brought together some of the most talented professionals in the event industry, offering a mix of networking, education, and celebration against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rocky Mountains.

The Design Vision
The creative direction for the retreat was masterfully envisioned by Caitlin Kuchemba of Fulton Events, whose expertise in art direction and event production set the tone for every detail of the experience. Caitlin’s vision seamlessly blended Mountain Elegance and Alpine Luxe, emphasizing rich textures, thoughtful design, and a celebration of the stunning natural surroundings in Vail.

Building on her direction, I focused on translating this vision into design elements, stationery, and details that reflected both the grandeur of the Rockies and the sophistication of a luxury retreat. Together, we curated a cohesive aesthetic that complemented the event’s rich jewel tones, earthy textures, and swanky supper club theme, ensuring the designs were as memorable as the event itself.

Design Details
Each piece of the suite reflected a key aspect of the retreat's theme and setting:

Color Palette: Inspired by the event’s jewel tones and natural elements, we used a mix of ivory, moss green, camel, plum, and soft burgundy, accented with wood tones and leather.
Materials and Textures: Luxurious paper, velvet, and copper accents added tactile richness, while leather and wood gave a nod to the rustic alpine charm.
Artistic Flourishes: Mountain-inspired motifs brought warmth and life to the designs, complemented by elegant typography that elevated each piece.

The Highlights
The pieces included menus, signage, nametags, and a dance floor design for the retreat, each customized to align with the retreat’s itinerary and overall atmosphere. The supper club gala was particularly inspiring, drawing on the vibe of a swanky, old school supper club, which I channeled through moody hues and sleek details.

A Memorable Experience
This project reminded me how transformative stationery can be—not just as a beautiful addition to an event but as a storytelling tool. Each element of the retreat's stationery was thoughtfully tailored to the unique experiences within the event, showcasing a cohesive yet versatile vibe across different settings. From the elegant menus to the distinctive signage, every piece contributed to the overarching theme while standing out in its own way. Seeing the designs come to life in such a stunning and carefully curated setting was truly a career highlight.
