Kaleigh + Zach’s Timeless Overbrook Wedding
Kaleigh and Zach had such a beautiful vision for their Overbrook Golf Club wedding! Overboork is such a beautiful venue with its romantic tree-lined drive and historic estate in the heart of Villanova, Pennsylvania. It was the perfect backdrop for this couple and their wedding celebration.
When we met, Kaleigh already knew that she wanted engraved invitations for the timeless, chic look and feel they impart. We accented their black and white color palette with some gold accents on the envelope liners and gold gilt edging on the invitations. Kaleigh and Zach liked the idea of using their initials, but thought their initials weren't pretty... challenge accepted! With just the right font, I created a gorgeous wax seal with their initials. My team and I wrapped each invitation suite with a black Midori silk ribbon and topped it with the wax seal. It all pulled together perfectly.
The wedding day details were created to tie in with the invitation design and overall feel of their venue and wedding vision. We created the escort cards, signage for the guest book and card table, menus, and my favorite, the signature drink sign with an illustration of their greyhound.
Kaleigh and Zach, it was an absolute pleasure to play a small part in your beautiful wedding day! Congratulations!
I asked Kaleigh and Zach to share some insight into their planning and wedding day:
What did you want your wedding to feel like?
fun; a low-pressure day that felt like us as a couple, celebrating with our friends and family
What was your inspiration for your wedding?
Classic, black and white. timeless
What made you choose a custom stationery designer to create your wedding invitation vision?
Exactly that- it was custom which meant it could reflect us as a couple with each added detail!
How did your stationery set the tone for your reception or wedding day?
Our stationery set the expectations for our guests when planning to come to our wedding. I remember telling Amy I wanted the invitations to say “black tie optional” without actually saying “black tie optional”. I believe that's exactly was our invitations conveyed and could not have been more perfect for what we envisioned.
What was your first dance song?
How sweet it is- James Taylor
What was your favorite moment to see or create?
Finally seeing everything come together at the cocktail hour when we were finished taking all our pictures and could socialize with our guests. It wasn’t one little thing but seeing every small detail come together to make the night perfect
What surprised you most about planning your wedding?
There will be months where you feel like you are planning every day and months with big lulls. Trying to stay on top of things (even though some have to wait) is beneficial
What advice would you give your friends getting married?
Get firm timelines and set expectations with vendors; also a “day-of” timeline sent to multiple different vendors and those in the wedding party to keep everyone on track!
