I had the pleasure of working with Natalie and Sean on their holiday wedding at Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, PA. This intimate and festive winter wedding was everything they dreamed of - filled with love and joy with some gorgeous “wow” elements. Join us as they share their inspirations, experiences, and special moments from their big day. From the magical holiday-inspired décor to the most amazing advice a couple could be given, their story is sure to inspire and delight. Keep reading to discover how they brought their unique vision to life and created unforgettable memories for themselves and their guests.

What did you want your wedding to feel like? We wanted our wedding to feel warm and cozy, especially amidst the winter season. We wanted each moment to be filled with love, happiness, and togetherness, surrounded by the people whom we love and cherish most.

What was your inspiration for your wedding? December is my favorite month and the time of our engagement! We love the cozy, bright, cheerful, and festive vibe of the winter holiday season, so we wanted to incorporate the magic of the holiday season in every aspect of our celebration, from the décor to the choice of church/venue.

What made you choose a custom stationery designer to create your wedding invitation vision? We wanted our wedding invitations to reflect our unique personalities and the style of our wedding. With Stone Hill Paperie, we could fine-tune every detail to align perfectly with our vision. Working with Amy enabled us to bring our ideas to life, resulting in invitations and a seating chart that truly represented us as a couple.

How did your stationery set the tone for your reception or wedding day?   Our stationery was key in setting the tone for our reception. The design elements of our invitations provided guests with a sneak peek into the style and theme of our reception. From the choice of colors to typography and imagery, our stationery served as the first impression, setting a tone of warmth and sophistication through our reception welcome signs, seating charts, signature drinks signs, and more! We loved carrying our theme through every aspect of our reception.

What was your first dance song? Imagine (Acoustic) by Ben Platt. We took dance lessons!

What was your favorite moment to see or create?

The entire day was my favorite! But a few of my favorites were walking down the aisle, watching our favorite people dance and celebrate with one another, and seeing our entire vision come together. It was unreal seeing all our design elements come together so perfectly on our big day.

How did you end the night? Did you have an after-party? We ended the night back at our hotel sports bar with family and friends, enjoying the most amazing and delicious chicken fingers!

What surprised you most about planning your wedding? How things come in waves. At first, it felt like we had all the time in the world to get everything sorted. But then suddenly, it was like everything needed to be done at once! It felt like a second job at times, but the process was ultimately incredibly rewarding. Seeing everything come together on our wedding day made all the hard work and unexpected moments worth it.

What advice would you give your friends getting married? The night before our wedding, a close friend of ours gave us the best piece of advice. He said, “Tomorrow is going to be a blink of the eye for both of you, if you could both at one point in time during the reception, both grab a drink and walk away from the crowd, turn around next to each other, and look at the entire venue you put together. Let it sink in who’s around you at that moment in time and ultimately the reason why you two are there at that exact moment. It’s a beautiful thing to take yourself away from the day-to-day hustle and really enjoy the presence of those around you at that special moment in your lives. This will shed new light on your new beginning in life, and if you can, try to do this before night is over.”
