A Holiday Folino Estate Wedding

Ashley and David wanted a beautiful holiday wedding with an elevated black and white design. Their destination was the Folino Estate Winery, where timeless elegance meets rustic charm. During our design consultation, we pulled together a vision for textured paper with deckled edges and letterpress print. The design pulled together beautifully and created the backdrop for a celebration filled with love and laughter for this very sweet couple. Read on as we delve into the magic of their special day, where Ashley recounts the day and the beautiful details.

What did you want your wedding to feel like?  We wanted our wedding to feel romantic and warm with a wintery touch.

What was your inspiration for your wedding?  Our inspiration for our wedding started with the beautiful invitations that Amy created for us. Her designs really inspired our ideas for the rest of the wedding day! The black, white, greenery, and wintery feeling fit perfectly for our December wedding.

What made you choose a custom stationery designer to create your wedding invitations? We were not sure exactly what type of design we wanted for our invitations, stationery, or wedding accessories. We searched high and low for the right person to help shape the feeling of our wedding day and after meeting with Amy from Stone Hill Paperie one time, we knew we had to work together to create the vision of our dreams!

How did your stationery set the tone for your reception or wedding day?  Our stationery set the tone for our flowers, bridesmaids and groomsmen attire, and overall feeling of the day. The black velvet bow on our invitation was a perfect touch that inspired our black velvet bridesmaids’ dresses and flower/boutonniere accessories.

Take us back through your wedding day: Our wedding day was the absolute best day ever! We were engaged for 2.5 years and together for 7 years prior to our wedding and each moment was filled with so much joy. Our favorite part of the day was being able to experience the moment of our unity with our closest family and friends, whom many traveled very long distances to be there to celebrate with us. We did a first look prior to walking down the aisle and it was definitely one of the most special moments. After our church ceremony, we partied the night away at Folino Estate Winery and couldn’t have asked for anything greater!

What was your first dance song? Thank God by Kane Brown

What was your favorite moment to see or create? It’s so hard to choose just one favorite moment because our wedding day was so incredible! One of the greatest moments was dancing into the reception area after being announced as the new Mr. and Mrs. and seeing all of our most favorite people in one room with all of the beautiful decorations ready for a night of celebration!

How did you end the night? Did you have an after-party? We ended the night with a private last dance and a sparkler send off, and some of our family and friends spent some more time together back at the hotel.

What surprised you most about planning your wedding?

We were surprised at how much our invitations and stationery pieces shaped the inspiration for the rest of our wedding.

What advice would you give your friends getting married?  Enjoy every moment and invest in a custom stationery designer like Stone Hill Paperie! Working with Amy was one of our favorite parts of planning our wedding and each beautiful piece made just for us made the day feel that much more special.
